Syyssetti - syksyvaihto, vol 2 / Autumnal set - autumn exhange, vol 2

Ja tässä minun tekemäni setti, lähetin sen Maijalle (ei blogia). Minulla oli pari erikokoista rasiaa, joten päätin tehdä niistä setin. Pienempään rasiaan pistelin Little House Needleworksin Heart & Home Samplerin, koska Maija kertoi pitävänsä mm. LHN:n talomalleista. Malli on pistelty dmc:n langoilla 25ct Floballe yhden yli. Flobaa on paljon kehuttu, eikä suotta. Ihanaa kangasta yhden yli pistelyyn! Koska tämä pienempi rasia on ollut aikaisemmassa elämässään pastillirasia, pistelin sen pohjaan "omistuskirjoituksen".

Isompaan rasiaan valitsin mallin Les Grilles de Marysen blogista vuoden 2007 SAL:in malleista (lokakuun kesämökki). Se on pistelty 32 ct Belfastille (Raw Natural).

Toiseksi setiksi lähetin lankaa ja neuloja. Neulat mahtuivat pienempään rasiaan, langat isompaan (ja mahtui siihen se pienempikin rasia postituksen ajaksi :-)






In the autumn exhange (Autumnal set) organized by Leena, I send the two sets to Maija (no blog). I had two tin boxes, so I decided to stitch tin toppers. For the smaller one I chose a Little House Needleworks design (Heart & Home Sampler) as Maija told that she likes, among other things, the house designs by LHN. I stitched it on 25ct Floba, which is such a wonderful fabric for over one stitching! I also stitched a "dedication" to the bottom of the box, to cover the signs of the box's previous life (pastille box).

The design on the bigger box is from Les Grilles de Maryse, the October cottage from her 2007 SAL. It is stitched on 32ct Belfast, Raw Natural. As the second set I sent needles and floss. The needles fit in the smaller box, the floss in the bigger one. I packed also the smaller box inside the big box for the trip.

Sain näin ihanat setit Kirsiltä Lennun syyssettivaihdossa! Tyynyt-setti ja terävät-setti koostuivat karpalonvärisellä langalla pistellyistä tyynyistä, samaa sävyä olevista saksista ja ihanassa kotelossa olevista neuloista! Olen niin ihastuksissani näistä kaikista. Nuo tyynyt ovat käsittämättömän suloisia! Dinky Dyesin saksia olen ihaillut jo pitkään, ja nyt sellaiset omistan! Kiitos Kirsi tästä ihanasta vaihdosta!


I received these lovely sets from Kirsi in the Autumnal set exhange organised by Leena. The "pillow set" and the "sharp set" consisted of the two pillows stitched with cranberry coloured floss, matching scissors and needles in such a lovely case! I'm overly delighted about these all. The pillows are so cute! I've been admiring the Dinky Dyes scissors for so long, and now I own a pair! Thank you so much Kirsi for this lovely exchange!

Postikortti, vol 2 / Postcard, vol 2

Tässä siis Minnalle Pretty exchangesin vaihdossa lähettämäni kortti. Malli on osa Summer Sampleria, Cross Sticheristä (issue 148), pistelty dmc:n langoilla Legacy Linenin 30ct Soft Willow -kankaalle. Ja vaikka nuo lentävät ötökät kovasti näyttävät perhosilta, ne ovat oikeasti ampiaisia...


This is the card I sent to Minna in the exchange organized by Pretty Exchanges. The pattern is part of Summer Sampler from Cross Stitcher (UK), issue 148, stitched with dmc floss on Legacy Linen 30ct Soft Willow. And those flying things are bees, not butterflies...

Postikortti / Postcard

Näin ihanan postikortin sain Minnalta Kirsin järjestämässä vaihdossa. Tämä on niin mukavan hyväntuulinen! Mikä lie oli kolauttanut postimerkin (järviaiheinen kuulemma) irti matkan varrella, mutta onneksi kortti tuli kuitenkin perille! Oma kortti lähtee alkuviikosta liikkeelle.


I received this lovely postcard from Minna in the exhange organized by Kirsi. This card is such a good-humoured one! Something had knocked off the stamp (which depicted lake scenery), but luckily the card arrived nonetheless! I will mail my own card early next week.

Liina / Doily

Osallistuin Kirsin blogissa kilpailuun, arvasin hänen toisen nimensä oikein ja voitin näin ihanan palkinnon! Kuvista toivottavasti välittyy se kuinka kaunis tämä Kirsin pellavalangasta neuloma liina oikein on! Sain myös muutaman dokan aina tervetullutta dmc:n lankaa. Kiitos vielä kerran, Kirsi!

I took part in a contest on Kirsi's blog, guessed her second name correctly and won such a lovely prize! I hope the pictures convey the beauty of this doily that Kirsi knitted with linen yarn! She also sent me some skeins of dmc floss. Thank you, Kirsi!

Kukkia ja Peukkulaa / Flowers and Adventure Park

Käsitöitä ei näytä riittävän esiteltäväksi asti (jotain pientä on kuitenkin tekeillä koko ajan, tosin en ihan joka päivä ole jaksanut ottaa töitä esille), joten tässä pieni kuvapläjäys kukkien ym. ja Peukkulan muodossa. Tuolla Peukkulassa poikkesimme nuoren serkkuni kanssa, mukava iltapäivä se oli aikuisillekin.

As I don't seem to have stitching or knitting photos to show (I'm still doing something small, althought not necessary stitching or knitting every day), here are some flowery etc. photos and also photos from children's adventure park Peukkula, which we visited with my young cousin; us grown-ups had a lovely afternoon, too.

Ensimmäinen syntymäpäivä / First birthday

Kummipojalla oli syntymäpäivä, hän täytti vuoden. Tein hänelle lahjaksi ruokalapun. Tai siis ruokalapun ostin valmiina ja kirjoin siihen nuo smurffikuviot...

My godson had his first birthday. I made him a bib, or rather I bought the bib and stitched the smurfs on it...

Myrskyn jälkeen / After a storm

Eilisiltainen ukkosmyrky kiersi mökkimme, harvoin tähän ihan päälle ukkonen nouseekaan. Mutta jyrinä ja salamointi kuului ja näkyi kauempaakin, monelta suunnalta! Sateiden mentyä ohi päätin hakea kameran ja ottaa muutaman kuvan. Aapo nukkui rauhallisesti terassilla, mutta kun kävelin mökin taakse, se seurasi uteliaana perässä.

Mitä me tehdään? / What are we going to do?

There was a big thunder storm last night, but it was not right above our summer cottage (we rarely get thunder stroms right above, they tend to go around). But we could hear the thunder and see the lightning from almost all around us! After the storm had passed, I went to take some pictures. Aapo was sleeping out on the terrace, but when he saw me walking with the camera, he was curious to see what I was doing.

Alku / A start

Aloitin tämän uuden projektin jo toukokuun lopussa:

Se on mökkiprojektini, eli olen tehnyt sitä vain mökillä viikonloppuisin. Nyt en ole noiden kortti- ja muiden kiireiden vuoksi ehtinyt koskea siihen pariin kolmeen viikkoon, mutta eiköhän se kohta taas pääse esille.


Tämähän on tietysti Spring Time Swirl -huivi (Rav link), jonka Kristel julkaisi toukokuussa KAL:ina, malli löytyy nyt Ravelrystä. Alempi kuva on kakkosvinkin jälkeen, sen jälkeen olen edistynyt jo nelosvihjeeseen.

I started this scaft in May, and it's been my "cottage project". I've knitted it during the weekends at the summer cottage, though not recently due to all the cards that needed finishing :-)

It is Spring Time Swirl (Rav link) that was published in May as a KAL, and can now be found in Ravelry. The last picture is after clue 2, but I'm now knitting clue 4.

Juhannusruusut / Midsummer roses

Tänä vuonna juhannusruusupensaat kukkivat ihan urakalla, täysimmillään hieman juhannuksen jälkeen. En muista koskaan aiemmin nähneeni niitä näin täynnä kukkia.




Olen perinteisesti ottanut kuvia koiristani juhannusruusun juurella. Vanhemmista koirista on varmaan parempiakin kuvia, mutta ei (vielä) digimuodossa... Tässä kuvakavalkadi hauvoistani vanhimmasta nuorimpaan (menetin vanhemmat koirat v. 2007, helmi- ja syyskuussa; Aapo muutti luokseni viime tammikuussa):






Midsummer roses (Rosa pimpinellifolia 'Plena') bloomed like crazy this summer, just after Midsummer. I've never seen so many flowers in them!

I've traditionally photographed my dogs in front of the midsummer roses. I'm sure there are better pictures of my older dogs, they just have not been scanned (yet). The dogs are there from the oldest to the youngest (I lost the oldest in February 2007 and Junior in September 2007, Aapo joined me in January this year).
