Theme-a-liciousin maaliskuun hullutus salli kaikenlaisen tekemisen.

Theme-a-licious March Madness got me to do quite many small things.

Pistelin jotain pientä uutta, ja viimeistelin niiden lisäksi myös pari vanhaa pistelyä. Vasen yläkulma: Chatelainen ilmaismalli parin vuoden takaa, sai odottaa näin pitkään viimeistelyä. Oikea yläkulma: Sampler Girl -ilmaismalli alkuvuodelta, pistelty Dinky Dyesin silkeillä. Vasen alakulma: Oak Haven Designs -suklaapupu on pistelty kaksi vuotta sitten pääsiäisenä, viimeistelty tänä pääsiäisenä, taustalla vaalean ruskeaa kangasta. Alla keskellä: Zigouigoui, lahja Marjolle kiitokseksi rp-tapaamisen järjestämisestä reilu viikko sitten, malli Louisonin blogista, lanka Dinky Dyes. Oikea alakulma: Bent Creekin pikkumalli Bunny, pistelty ja viimeistelty pitkäperjantaina.

I also stitched several smalls, and in addition finalized couple of older small finishes. Upper left corner: Chatelaine freebie from two years ago, finally finalized as a flat ornament. Upper right corner: The Sampler Girl freebie from earlier this year, stitched with Dinky-Dyes silks. Lower left corner: Oak Haven Designs chocolate bunny stitched on Easter two years ago, finalized on Easter this year, backing fabric light brown. Lower middle: Zigouigoui, a present for Marjo for organizing a stitchers' meeting a bit over a week ago, design from Louison's blog, floss from Dinky Dyes. Lower right corner: Bent Creek small, Bunny, stitched and finalized on Good Friday.

Tämä Gorjuss - Winter Friend tuli jo esiteltyä WIPocalypse-raportissa, mutta se ansaitsee ehdottomasti myös toisen esittelyn. Ihana malli, ihana pistellä. Tästä tulee taulu, joka odottaa sitten joskus vuosien kuluttua seurakseen isosiskoa, HAEDin Snow Princess -mallia...

This Gorjuss - Winter Friend was already shown in the WIPocalypse report, but it most definately deserves another showing. Lovely design, lovely to stitch. It will end up on the wall, to wait for a big sister (HAED design Snow Princess...)

Ja viimeisimpänä vaan ei vähäisimpänä, tadaa, jotain nukkekotiin, ehkä... Tämä tarvitsee vielä jalat alleen ja vähän nyöriä ympärille, ja ehkä myös huovan peittämään kriittisimpiä kohtia, ja ehkä se sen jälkeen johonkin nurkkaan mahtuu... Katsokaa mieluimmin tuota takaosaa, se on ihan siisti :)

Last but not least, ta-dah, something for the doll house, maybe... My very first try and it shows; the chair needs still legs, and maybe some ribbon or cord, and maybe also a throw to cover some critical points, and maybe after that it will fit some corner... And please take a closer look on the back side of the chair, it is quite tidy :)

RPH / CJC 2013, 1-5

Tämä vuonna ristipistohassutukseni koostuu aiemmin aloitetuista töistä, osa on jo useamman vuoden takaa. Valitsin keskeneräisten joukosta 15 sellaista, jotka haluaisin valmiiksi tänä vuonna (ja jotka ovat jo edenneet pelkkää aloitusta edemmäs, jotain poikkeusta lukuunottamatta :-) Tässä ensimmäiset viisi hassutusta.

For this year's Crazy January Challenge I chose to continue wips rather than have new starts. I chose 15 projects that I would like to finish this year. Here are the first five crazies.

#1 Berni. Viime vuoden hassutusaloitus, jota pistelin muutamaan otteeseen vuoden varrella. Tämä oli viime vuoden viimeinen kädessä ollut työ, joten oli luonnollista jatkaa sen kanssa tämän vuoden puolella.

#1 Bernese Mountain Dog. A start from last year's CJC, which I worked on few times during the year. It was the last project I stitched last year so it was easy to start the challenge with.

#2 The Guardian. Tämä Teresa Wentzlerin malli on vanhin keskeneräinen työ, aloitin sen v. 2004 helmikuussa. Saisikohan sen valmiiksi ennen 9v synttäreitä? Unohtuneiden pistojen metsästys vie aikaa, mutta sen jälkeen ei puutu kuin lohikäärmeen jälkipistot.

#2 The Guardian. This design by Teresa Wentzler is my oldest wip, I started it in February 2004. I wonder if I could finish it before its 9th birthday? The hunt of the forgotten stitches will take some time but after that there's only the back stitches on the dragon.

#3 Gorjuss. Tämäkin oli viime vuoden hassutusaloitus. Aivan ihana! Se pitää saada pikaisesti valmiiksi ja seinälle :-)

#3 Gorjuss. This was last year's CJC start as well. So lovely! I have to finish this soon so I get it on the wall :-)

#4 Spooky Row (Bent Creek). Tämä on ollut kesken jo muutaman vuoden, olen sitä pistellyt aina silloin tällöin. Seuraavaan Halloweeniin mennessä se on valmis, ihan varmasti :-)

#4 Spooky Row (by Bent Creek). This has been a wip for some years now, but it will be finished before next Halloween, I'm sure of that!

#5 Smurffit. Aloitin tämän kolmisen vuotta sitten, kun sattui olemaan tuo mallikirja esillä (olin pistellyt sieltä lahjan kummipojalle). Tämä saattaa päätyä tyynyksi valmistuttuaan. Löytyisiköhän tähän jostain smurffiaiheista taustakangasta?

#5 The smurfs. I started this about three years ago as I had the book at hand (I had stitched a birthday present for my small godson). This might end up as a pillow once finished. Does anybody know if there's fabric with smurfs that I could use as the backing fabric?

RPH / CJC #13 & #14

Seuraavina aloituksina ovatkin eläimet, koira ja hevonen. Koiran pistely sujunee hyvin, mutta hevonen hieman jännittää. Malli on tehty valokuvasta, joten lopputulos voi olla ihan mikä tahansa :-) Hyvältä tuo kuitenkin tuossa mallina näyttää.

The next new starts were animals, a dog and a horse. There should be no problems stitching the dog, but I'm a bit worried about the horse. The chart is made from a photo, so the end result could be just about anything :-) But it does look good as a chart anyway.

Hassutus: Kolmen suora / Crazy Challenge: Three in a row

Viikonloppu oli erittäin tuottoisa, sen aikana valmistui kolme pientä hassutusaloitusta. Lisäksi sunnuntaina viimeistelin yhden vaihdon (mutta siitä lisää sitten myöhemmin)...

I had a very productive weekend as the past weekend I finished three small Crazy Challenge starts. Apart from that I did the finishing touches to an exchange on Sunday (more about that in a following post)...

Perjantai-iltana valmistui Alessandra Alelaide Needleworksin Cigno, ihastuttava malli, jonka viimeistelen lahjaksi vanhemmilleni, kunhan saan valmiiksi toisenkin heille menevän joutsenmallin.

Friday evening I finished Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks' Cigno, a lovely design that I will finish as a present for my parent once I finish another swan themed design for them.

Lauantain aikana sain valmiiksi pienen bernimallin (tarkoittaako tämä nyt sitä, että voin aloittaa sen isomman?). Muutin hieman värejä, jotta sain koirasta enemmän bernin värisen, ainakin enemmän minun bernieni värisen :-) Tämän taidan viimeistellä pieneksi koristetyynyksi.

Saturday I finished the small Bernese Mountain Dog (does this mean I can start the bigger one now?). I changed the colours a little bit, to have more the colours my dogs have (had). I think I'll finish this as a small pillow ornament.

Ja sunnuntaina valmistui se ihana ovikoriste, tosin viimeistely vielä puuttuu. Ajattelin kirjoa taustakankaaseen nimen ja osoitteen, ja laittaa tämän asunnon ulko-oveen, vaan uskallankohan kuitenkaan... :-)

And Sunday saw the Welcome Knocker finished, though the final finishing touches are still missing. I thought I'd stitch my name and address on the backing fabric and hang this on the apartment's front door, but do I dare...

Ristipistohassutus, aloitus 8 / Crazy January Challenge, start 8

Eilisen vastapainoksi tämän päiväinen aloitus oli keveä, ja valmistuikin päivän kuluessa. Sain viime vuonna Pirreltä synttärilahjaksi mm. tämän pyyhkeen ja Bent Creekin mallin, ja aloin ideoida niitä yhteen. Lopputuloksena onkin sitten Summer Row'sta napatuista osista kirjailtu pieni soma pyyhe :-)

As yesterday's start was a big one, today was time for a smaller one, and I even finished it today. Last year Pirre gave me birthday presents, among which were a towel and the Bent Creek design Summer Row. I thought that they would go nicely together, and to prove that :-) here's a small cute towel.

Ristipistohassutus, aloitus 3 / Crazy January Challenge, start 3

Kolmannen hassuttelupäivän aloitus on Bent Creekin Welcome Knocker. Olen jo pitkään halunnut aloittaa tämän, mutta totta kai aina on tullut jotain muuta tilalle. Mutta nyt, kiitos Hassutuksen, pääsin vihdoin viimein käsiksi tähän hienoon malliin :-)

  
The third start in the Craziness is the Welcome Knocker by Bent Creek. I've wanted to stitch this for a long time, but of course there's always been something else to stitch. But now, thanks to the Craziness, I finally manage to stitch this lovely design :-)
